About the role
- Mainframe Developer at Stefanini focusing on COBOL, CICS, and DB2 systems. Responsible for analysis, development, and maintenance of critical systems in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze functional and technical requirements, understanding business needs and translating them into efficient and secure system solutions.
- Develop, maintain and enhance systems in a Mainframe environment, primarily using COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL and z/OS.
- Perform corrective, preventive and evolutionary maintenance on legacy systems, ensuring stability, performance and compliance with business rules.
- Implement and maintain batch and online routines, ensuring correct processing of large volumes of data and transactions.
- Create, adjust and optimize SQL queries and DB2 database structures to improve performance and data integrity.
- Prepare and maintain JCLs for the execution of processes, loads, month-end/period closings and system integrations.
- Support critical systems 24x7, analyzing incidents, performing diagnostics and fixes, and monitoring job execution.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, information security rules and IT governance.
- Participate in unit, integration and user acceptance testing, supporting users and business areas in solution validation.
- Document systems, processes, business rules and technical procedures to ensure traceability and operational continuity.
- Work collaboratively with analysts, architects, QA, infrastructure and business teams, promoting clear communication and cooperation.
- Support production deployments, change management and code versioning processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, code refactoring, performance optimization and modernization of legacy systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer with strong skills in COBOL, CICS and DB2, working on development, maintenance and support of critical Mainframe systems.
- Responsibility for analyzing functional and technical requirements, implementing efficient and secure solutions and performing corrective and evolutionary maintenance on high-volume transactional applications.
- Demonstrable experience with systems involving registration, validation and processing of alphanumeric CNPJ (Brazilian corporate tax identifier), including alignment with business rules, tax validations and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in corporate and banking environments is a plus.
- Ability to work closely with business areas, functional analysts and technical teams to ensure solution quality, performance and stability, as well as to support testing, production deployments and 24x7 system support.
