About the role
- Transportation Engineer designing integrated roadway, transit, and active transportation projects for a consulting firm. Leading project management efforts with a focus on client needs and design standards.
Responsibilities
- Design integrated municipal roadway, provincial highway, transit facilities, and active transportation facilities projects for clients
- Assist project managers in delivering large multi-disciplinary transportation projects
- Project management of small to medium-sized transportation projects
- Lead projects or technical components of projects from planning through design
- Plan, organize and control project budgets and schedules
- Provide direction to engineering staff in the preparation of technical documents
- Prepare correspondence, engineering reports, proposals, expressions of interest, specifications and meeting minutes
- Provide project guidance and mentoring for junior staff
- Provide Quality Management reviews
Requirements
- B.A.Sc. or B.Eng. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering program
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the transportation design engineering field preferably with local experience in the consulting industry
- P.Eng designation or ability to register
- Knowledge of applicable design standards
- Outstanding communication, documentation, and proposal writing skills
- Past experience in contract administration is an asset
