About the role

  • Principal Environmental Engineer responsible for developing EH&S compliance and remediation projects at Stantec. Leading business development and client relationship management for environmental services.

Responsibilities

  • Personally accountable for bringing in $1million+ (net revenue) spanning EH&S compliance, due diligence, site assessment, remediation, and hazardous materials assessment services annually.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients.
  • Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
  • Direct and develop complex EH&S compliance, site investigation, remediation, and construction projects with multi-person project teams.
  • Oversee multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Provide leadership in building high performing teams, managing staff performance, recruiting and retention, and mentoring personnel for overall success of the practice team.
  • Develop a working understanding of Stantec’s other consulting practice areas, sector model and actively support cross-selling other services to existing and new emerging clients.

Requirements

  • BS and/or MS in engineering, geology, science, or related discipline; professional registration preferred.
  • Approximately 15-20+ years of relevant EH&S, compliance, due diligence, site investigation/remediation, hazardous material building services experience.
  • Proven business development experience for large programs/contracts and client relationships supported by repeat business, including established contacts in the Southern California area.
  • Consistent "seller/doer" track record of delivering annual sales of at least $1 million+ (net revenue).
  • Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and team building “people” skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of the local regulatory climate, with proven negotiation skills with state and local regulators.
  • Recognized technical expertise by the marketplace.
