Principal Environmental Engineer responsible for developing EH&S compliance and remediation projects at Stantec. Leading business development and client relationship management for environmental services.
Responsibilities
Personally accountable for bringing in $1million+ (net revenue) spanning EH&S compliance, due diligence, site assessment, remediation, and hazardous materials assessment services annually.
Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients.
Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
Direct and develop complex EH&S compliance, site investigation, remediation, and construction projects with multi-person project teams.
Oversee multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Provide leadership in building high performing teams, managing staff performance, recruiting and retention, and mentoring personnel for overall success of the practice team.
Develop a working understanding of Stantec’s other consulting practice areas, sector model and actively support cross-selling other services to existing and new emerging clients.
Requirements
BS and/or MS in engineering, geology, science, or related discipline; professional registration preferred.
Approximately 15-20+ years of relevant EH&S, compliance, due diligence, site investigation/remediation, hazardous material building services experience.
Proven business development experience for large programs/contracts and client relationships supported by repeat business, including established contacts in the Southern California area.
Consistent "seller/doer" track record of delivering annual sales of at least $1 million+ (net revenue).
Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and team building “people” skills.
Advanced knowledge of the local regulatory climate, with proven negotiation skills with state and local regulators.
