About the role

  • ASL Medical Interpreter providing essential ASL interpretation services for patient care at Stanford Health Care. Collaborating with healthcare staff to ensure accurate communication for non-English speaking patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ASL interpretation services to all Stanford Health Care departments for patient care
  • Participate as a neutral party in the role as conduit of information between staff and patients/visitors
  • Ensure accurate communication of patient's outpatient services and hospitalization information
  • Translate correspondence, medical histories, and other pertinent documents as needed
  • Maintain accurate daily records on all requests for service as well as the provision of services

Requirements

  • B.A. degree preferred but optional; three years of interpretation experience in a healthcare setting may be accepted as a substitute
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience as a healthcare interpreter
  • RID - Interpreter For The Deaf Licensure
