Student Assistant supporting community engagement for SOS MEDITERRANEE's humanitarian rescue efforts in the Mediterranean. Involves coordination of volunteers and social media content creation.
Responsibilities
Support in coordinating volunteer groups and projects, including onboarding new volunteers
Support in establishing new volunteer groups
Assist in organizing events, actions and campaigns
Respond to inquiries about participation opportunities at SOS MEDITERRANEE
Conceptualize and create social media content and online posts about the volunteer programme’s activities in collaboration with the communications team
Support the expansion of the organisation’s network and respond to stakeholder inquiries
Assist with general administrative tasks and provide additional support during special events or periods of increased workload
Requirements
Current enrollment in a university programme, preferably in social sciences, humanities or communications
Interest in humanitarian issues and migration policy and alignment with the mission and values of SOS MEDITERRANEE
Some experience in organising events and/or working with volunteers (through personal volunteering or, for example, an internship)
Very good verbal and written communication skills in German and English
Affinity for social media
Willingness to participate in evening appointments (and occasionally weekend appointments) in coordination with colleagues, e.g., for volunteer meetings and events
Willingness to travel occasionally
