About the role
- Intern supporting communication and advocacy efforts for SOS MEDITERRANEE in Berlin. Involves research, content creation, and supporting events in a humanitarian organization.
Responsibilities
- Research, analysis and preparation of information on current developments in politics, civil society and Search and Rescue (SAR)
- Support in advocacy and political communication
- Assistance with creating website content and internal information documents
- Weekly press monitoring
- Translation of articles and informational materials from other national organizations into German
- Conceptualization and creation of social media content
- Support with administrative tasks
- General assistance for special occasions such as events, campaigns or during periods of increased workload
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Migration Studies, Communication and Media Studies, or a related field, with a mandatory internship requirement
- Interest in humanitarian issues and migration policy
- Very strong research and analytical skills; experience in producing written content
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Affinity for social media
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
- Alignment with the mission and values of SOS MEDITERRANEE in its European dimension
- Advantageous: knowledge of search and rescue, maritime and international law, migration issues, the Mediterranean context, graphic design, and proficiency in French or Italian
