About the role
- Lead monthly accounting close, SPED reporting and preparation of annual financial statements. Drive automation and AI initiatives, support Big Four audits, and develop accounting policies and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Implement improvements to accounting routines involving system integrations and the elimination of manual tasks
- Perform the monthly accounting close, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of reported figures
- Prepare and file SPED accounting reports (SPED Contábil)
- Ensure correct accounting of all transactions, reviewing and correcting any discrepancies
- Perform account reconciliations, keeping supporting documentation organized and available
- Prepare annual financial statements
- Participate in meetings and presentations to report results
- Promote and implement the use of AI within the accounting department
- Collaborate with other departments by providing technical support and guidance
- Develop policies and manuals necessary to document day-to-day accounting procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and active CRC registration (Brazilian Regional Accounting Council)
- Proven, consistent experience in accounting
- Knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics
- Experience supporting external audits, especially with Big Four firms
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team
- Proficiency with automation and analysis tools, including advanced Microsoft Office and BI tools
- Active participation in major projects involving department restructuring, automation, and bringing accounting processes in-house
