About the role

  • Director of ADA Compliance at Southern New Hampshire University providing strategic leadership for accessibility initiatives and ensuring compliance with relevant laws. Collaborating with departments to develop policies and training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership, planning, and oversight for the institution's accessibility initiatives
  • Coordinate compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and related federal and state regulations
  • Develop and lead the execution of compliance plans, projects, and processes
  • Act as a liaison for the department to both internal and external constituencies
  • Chair or lead accessibility-related committees and working groups
  • Provide training and policy education for faculty and staff
  • Draft and implement policies, procedures, and initiatives related to ADA and Section 504 compliance
  • Responsible for the disability grievance procedure and serves as the final decision-maker for related appeals.
  • Provide secondary support to the Title IX and equity functions of the Office of General Counsel and Compliance.
  • Assist in the coordination of investigations, training, policy development, and case management related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.

Requirements

  • 4 + Years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Broad knowledge of ADA/504 Compliance in the higher education setting
  • Familiarity with digital accessibility principles and tools (e.g., WCAG standards, accessible document and web practices)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse population
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • While maintaining a high attention to detail, ability to understand the scope of the position within the context of the larger organization
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate initiative.
