Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership, planning, and oversight for the institution's accessibility initiatives
Coordinate compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and related federal and state regulations
Develop and lead the execution of compliance plans, projects, and processes
Act as a liaison for the department to both internal and external constituencies
Chair or lead accessibility-related committees and working groups
Provide training and policy education for faculty and staff
Draft and implement policies, procedures, and initiatives related to ADA and Section 504 compliance
Responsible for the disability grievance procedure and serves as the final decision-maker for related appeals.
Provide secondary support to the Title IX and equity functions of the Office of General Counsel and Compliance.
Assist in the coordination of investigations, training, policy development, and case management related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.
Requirements
4 + Years of experience
Bachelor's Degree in related field
Broad knowledge of ADA/504 Compliance in the higher education setting
Familiarity with digital accessibility principles and tools (e.g., WCAG standards, accessible document and web practices)
Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment
Proven Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse population
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
While maintaining a high attention to detail, ability to understand the scope of the position within the context of the larger organization
Ability to think critically and demonstrate initiative.
