About the role

  • Vice President, Advanced Planning providing financial and estate planning authority for Fidelity’s high net worth clients. Collaborating with a team to support client engagements both virtually and in-person.

Responsibilities

  • serves as a financial planning and estate planning subject matter authority for Fidelity’s high net worth clients and their advisors
  • deliver point-in-time estate planning guidance and education or lead a more comprehensive financial and estate planning engagement
  • supported by a Director, Advance Planning and an Advanced Planning Analyst, supporting advanced planning client engagements
  • primarily use video technology to function remotely in addition to meeting clients and advisors in investor centers across the region
  • collaborate within the Advanced Planning team both virtually and in-person to maintain and increase our collective impact on the clients we serve
  • Travel is typically expected between 5% and 20% of the time, depending on physical proximity to regional sites and investor centers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with any of the following designations preferred: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation, CFA or CFP®
  • 13-15+ years overall work experience with 7+ years of trusts and estate planning, income tax planning or succession planning work experience within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 obtained within 90-days of employment
  • Estate Planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation knowledge (required)
  • Retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning preferred
  • Experienced in working with business owners, start-ups/Pre IPO companies a plus
  • Works independently and able to lead an assigned territory to drive High Net Worth client engagements
  • Effectively coaches, develops, and applies junior team members
  • Thrives in a team environment to provide an exceptional client planning experience
  • Communicates complex subjects clearly and effectively
  • Emotional intelligence to successfully bond with and communicate with clients and their advisors
  • Possesses a solution-oriented, client-first work ethic
