About the role

  • Field Commissioning Engineer overseeing commissioning process, resolving technical escalations, and providing client training for AV systems. Collaborating with project staff to ensure functional AV integration.

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with a variety of internal department staff and client contact(s) in the commissioning process to analyze and resolve all technical escalations
  • Handling client requested changes to scope of work (change orders)
  • Ensure that latest code version is stored on the project server define audio system controls
  • Assisting with field questions and clarifications
  • Assists with system installations, when needed
  • Provide client training on AV systems
  • Responsible for redlining CAD documentation for as-built purpose
  • Creating control system code and configurations for Q-SYS, Crestron, Extron, etc.
  • Field testing and escalating and resolving issues with equipment and programs
  • Communicating punch items to project manager
  • IP configuration of all AV devices residing on a network
  • Filling out IP tables and storing these on the project server
  • Managing versions and storing final DSP code on the project server
  • Rack testing and escalating and resolving issues with equipment
  • Completing commissioning QC checklists
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of commercial audio/video/lighting installation with a thorough, demonstrable understanding of system integration techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge in troubleshooting audio/video system setup and gain structure.
  • Programming of audio DSP units from multiple vendors
  • Working knowledge of QSC, Crestron, AMX, Biamp, Extron, Polycom & Cisco equipment
  • Experience/certification in Q-SYS Control 201; Crestron SMIPL & SIMPL+; Extron; HTML; JavaScript & Lua
  • Must understand and apply basic IP networking skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to work effectively as a team leader and direct the work of others.
  • Create customer training presentations using PowerPoint
  • CTS-I certification or desire to obtain within 3 years
  • Must be able to travel daily to job sites; with approximately 40% overnight travel
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/responsibilities with competing deadlines
  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic engineering is preferable but not required
