About the role

  • Conseiller.ère en santé et sécurité au travail chez Sleeman Breweries. Soutien aux programmes de santé et sécurité au travail au Québec, en logistique.

Responsibilities

  • Operational health and safety support
  • Ensure follow-up on inspections, audits, training, etc.
  • Provide H&S orientation to new employees
  • Monitor H&S performance indicators (statistics, dashboards, etc.)
  • Coordinate health and safety committee activities: planning, compiling inspections, facilitating meetings and drafting minutes
  • Provide H&S tools and communication materials for all sites
  • Identify hazards, analyze risks and develop action plans
  • Plan and conduct emergency preparedness drills
  • Manage various H&S-related special projects
  • Ensure compliance of H&S programs
  • Contribute to the development of the Quebec H&S strategic plan, particularly for logistics, and monitor progress of actions
  • Lead the implementation of H&S programs in satellite warehouses
  • Provide administrative support to the H&S Specialist
  • Manage compensation and return-to-work
  • Manage compensation and return-to-work files, including preparing and sending documents required by the CNESST
  • Maintain regular communication with healthcare professionals, injured employees and management
  • Collaborate with the H&S Specialist and the specialist for health, disability and wellness programs to develop and monitor return-to-work plans

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in occupational health and safety
  • Relevant post-secondary education (logistics, operations, warehouse and distribution administration, or occupational health and safety)
  • Knowledge of the Act respecting occupational health and safety and training in hazard identification, risk assessment and control
  • Experience working with government agencies (e.g., CNESST) is an asset
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, autonomous, strong organizational skills, ability to influence, field-oriented approach, etc.
  • Proficient with computer tools, including Microsoft Office; excellent Excel skills required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • English language proficiency is considered an asset for communicating with the national team
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s values.
