About the role
- Senior Accountant supporting SME clients with their accounting matters and delivering actionable financial insights using cloud systems. Overseeing financial records and ensuring compliance with Australian regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Support SME clients with their accounting matters, enabling growth and decision making.
- Deliver accurate BAS lodgements and maintain clean financial records.
- Provide clients with clear, actionable financial insights.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, payments, and reconciliation of supplier/client accounts.
- Collaborate with bookkeeping and tax teams for accuracy of transaction recording, ledger integrity, and smooth financial operations.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, acting as their go-to advisor for day-to-day accounting needs.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years experience as an Accountant within an accounting firm.
- Outstanding client relationship management (both verbal & written).
- Strong understanding of Australian regulatory standards.
- Experience with cloud systems like Xero and Dext.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
