About the role

  • Senior Network Engineer supporting enterprise network infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. Delivering expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and SD-WAN while ensuring performance and security.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with lead engineers, architects, and cross-functional partners to implement and improve LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN solutions aligned to business and technical requirements.
  • Translate high-level network designs into detailed implementation plans, including configuration standards, migration runbooks, validation criteria, and rollback strategies.
  • Lead or support network integration for new sites, acquisitions, and infrastructure changes including cutovers, vendor coordination, and post-deployment stabilization.
  • Design and implement resilient routing and segmentation strategies using BGP, OSPF, VRFs, VLANs, and advanced route policy controls.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for complex and high-impact network issues, driving root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot across Layer 1–7, including routing/switching, firewall policy behavior, VPNs, application flows, DNS/DHCP, and traffic engineering.
  • Analyze packet captures, logs, and telemetry using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, NetFlow/IPFIX, syslog, SNMP, and vendor analytics dashboards.
  • Implement and maintain secure routing policies, segmentation, and firewall architectures including zone-based policies, least privilege access, and traffic inspection.
  • Deploy, operate, and optimize SD-WAN solutions including site rollouts, policy design, application-aware routing, HA designs, and performance tuning.
  • Design and support enterprise wireless networks with advanced knowledge of 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi‑Fi 5/6/6E), RF fundamentals, roaming behavior, and capacity planning.
  • Support voice network services including SIP, QoS/DSCP marking, and troubleshooting voice quality issues (jitter, latency, packet loss).
  • Implement and support Azure networking designs and operations including VNets, Subnets, NSGs, UDRs/Route Tables, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, and network observability via Network Watcher/flow logs.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, IP addressing plans, routing policy documentation, and configuration standards.
  • Act as a technical mentor to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of team standards and processes.
  • On call rotation/After hours deployments when needed.
  • Travel upon request

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise networks in hybrid environments (cloud + on‑prem).
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale network deployments, distributed sites, and complex enterprise operations.
  • Expert-level routing and switching including advanced BGP (policy, communities, path manipulation), advanced OSPF (areas, redistribution, troubleshooting), VLANs/trunking/STP, and scalable L2/L3 campus design.
  • Firewall expertise across all major vendors, including NAT, policy design, threat prevention, inspection, and VPN technologies (IPsec/SSL).
  • Strong SD‑WAN and WAN edge experience including application-aware routing, HA, performance tuning, and provider troubleshooting.
  • Enterprise wireless expertise including 802.11 standards, RF fundamentals, roaming, authentication (802.1X), and performance troubleshooting.
  • Voice/SIP networking experience including QoS design and real‑time traffic optimization.
  • Azure networking skills including ExpressRoute/VPN Gateway hybrid connectivity, routing control (UDRs), segmentation, and logging/monitoring.
  • Strong troubleshooting across Layer 1–7 using packet capture/logging/telemetry tools; excellent documentation and collaboration.
  • Nice to Haves (Preferred, Not Required): Azure Network Engineer Associate (or equivalent Azure networking background).
  • CCNP/CCIE or equivalent vendor-specific depth (nice to have).
  • ITIL v4 Foundations (nice to have).
  • SD‑WAN vendor certifications (e.g., VeloCloud, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, Cisco).
