About the role

  • Technical Writer I focusing on documentation for credit-based financial software at Shaw Systems. Collaborating with experts to produce clear and concise materials for multiple audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit documentation for a wide range of franchise business audiences
  • Write, rewrite, and/or edit documentation for a variety of projects and purposes
  • Work with subject matter experts and team members to ensure clear communication
  • Analyze feedback provided by clients and improve content accordingly
  • Review published materials and recommend revisions in scope and content
  • Provide quality assurance by reviewing documents for coherence and style
  • Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions
  • Edit or make changes to material prepared by other writers
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize work utilizing project management tools

Requirements

  • Communicating effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
  • Solid organizational and detail-oriented expertise
  • Ability to handle numerous projects at one time
  • Experience in financial lending would be helpful
  • Intermediate level knowledge of content management systems (MadCap Flare preferred)
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Intermediate-Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure/Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence would be helpful
  • Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Technical Writing, strongly preferred
