About the role

  • Design Manager responsible for delivering Mains Renewal Programme at Severn Trent Water. Leading design teams and ensuring successful project delivery in the water sector.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Design Business Lead
  • Responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our Mains Renewal Programme
  • Accountable for a direct team and collaboration with supply chain partners
  • Developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure successful design, delivery, and handover of projects.

Requirements

  • Ideally qualified in a technical engineering or design related discipline
  • Experienced engineer with a strong background in design
  • Leading successful design teams in a highly regulated industry such as water or gas
  • Strong team manager with excellent planning and implementation skills
  • Extensive experience of implementing CDM regulations in the design process
  • Strong understanding of risk management in construction and operational design
  • Experience working with a diverse team of different skillsets
  • Building capacity and mentoring other engineers
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence required.
