Responsibilities
Lead our data, monitoring, and analytics strategy, architecting the systems and developing the capabilities that will become the single source of truth for infiltration
Transform how we use data, from deploying a strategic monitoring network to developing new, enhanced and predictive models as well as creating dashboards that drive multi-million-pound investment decisions
Develop and execute the full data, monitoring, and analytics strategy for the project
Identify appropriate data sources, oversee the implementation of strategic monitoring techniques
Design and build the programme’s Infiltration Dashboard
Develop and implement a methodology for quantifying benefits
Act as the analytical hub for the programme, offering vital data support to teams involved in strategic investigation, delivery, and performance tracking
Champion a data-driven culture by promoting the importance of data quality and evidence-based decision-making
Enhance our analytical capabilities by applying statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns
Explore and implement machine learning or similar models to generate predictive insights into infiltration hotspots.
Requirements
Strong data analysis skills and experience working with large, complex datasets to solve practical problems
Proficiency in tools such as SQL, Python or R, and platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
Strategic mindset, capable of designing future-proof data architectures and analytics roadmaps
Strong problem-solving abilities and an inquisitive nature
Ability to communicate complex insights clearly to non-technical audiences
Candidates from a range of technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including data science, engineering, environmental science, hydrogeology, physics, and asset management
Familiarity with data platforms, governance, and quality management is desirable
Knowledge of statistical modelling, predictive analytics, or machine learning
A degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics is preferred.
