About the role

  • Compliance Analyst at Severn Trent Water leading data and monitoring strategy to optimize environmental impact. Designing insights through complex data analytics and enhancing decision-making across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead our data, monitoring, and analytics strategy, architecting the systems and developing the capabilities that will become the single source of truth for infiltration
  • Transform how we use data, from deploying a strategic monitoring network to developing new, enhanced and predictive models as well as creating dashboards that drive multi-million-pound investment decisions
  • Develop and execute the full data, monitoring, and analytics strategy for the project
  • Identify appropriate data sources, oversee the implementation of strategic monitoring techniques
  • Design and build the programme’s Infiltration Dashboard
  • Develop and implement a methodology for quantifying benefits
  • Act as the analytical hub for the programme, offering vital data support to teams involved in strategic investigation, delivery, and performance tracking
  • Champion a data-driven culture by promoting the importance of data quality and evidence-based decision-making
  • Enhance our analytical capabilities by applying statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns
  • Explore and implement machine learning or similar models to generate predictive insights into infiltration hotspots.

Requirements

  • Strong data analysis skills and experience working with large, complex datasets to solve practical problems
  • Proficiency in tools such as SQL, Python or R, and platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
  • Strategic mindset, capable of designing future-proof data architectures and analytics roadmaps
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and an inquisitive nature
  • Ability to communicate complex insights clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Candidates from a range of technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including data science, engineering, environmental science, hydrogeology, physics, and asset management
  • Familiarity with data platforms, governance, and quality management is desirable
  • Knowledge of statistical modelling, predictive analytics, or machine learning
  • A degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics is preferred.
