About the role

  • Seeking Board Members for Governance and Risk Advisory Board of PIRC. Ensuring delivery of best practices and financial oversight while supporting the police investigation body.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring PIRC delivers its functions in accordance with Scottish Ministers’ policies and priorities.
  • Providing strategic direction and providing constructive advice where necessary on governance processes deployed by PIRC.
  • Ensuring financial stewardship by providing robust scrutiny, challenge, and advice where necessary as well as supporting the PIRC Accountable Officer for audit purposes.
  • Together with the Chair provide oversight and challenge of the PIRC Key Performance Indicators and Strategic Objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience of organisational governance and financial management and oversight.
  • Effective communication skills providing constructive, influencing, and supportive challenge.
  • Effective analysis and collegiate decision-making skills.

Benefits

  • Members will receive a daily fee of £210 and reasonable travel expenses.
