- Unit Lead responsible for stable operation of SAP systems in a hybrid role. Leading a team while ensuring compliance and security standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for SAP operations (Run)
- Overall responsibility for the smooth, secure, and high-performance technical operation of the supported SAP systems and services with the goal of maximizing customer satisfaction
- Establishment and monitoring of KPIs (availability, performance, ticket volume, SLA fulfillment)
- Ensure that projects (from the Build team) are handed over Operations-ready (documentation, monitoring setup, automation, runbooks)
- Responsibility for implementing and using monitoring, security, and automation solutions
- Budget and resource responsibility for the unit (costs, capacity, utilization)
- Participation in strategic architecture and portfolio decisions together with other units
- Leadership of the specialist roles within the SAP Operations unit
- Technical and, if applicable, disciplinary leadership of the SAP Operations unit in an international team
- Promotion of knowledge sharing and documentation within the unit
- Interface and stakeholder management
- Ensure collaboration with the Plan/Build team on architecture guidelines, security and authorization concepts, and integration and Fiori strategy
- Close coordination with the AMS unit lead for seamless interaction between application support and technical operations (e.g., releases, projects, hypercare)
- Central point of contact for customers together with Service Management on operational matters (for escalations, optimizations)
- Ensure and maintain supplier relationships in collaboration with Scheer Partner Management (Microsoft, SAP, ...)
- Responsibility for quality, security, and compliance
- Ensure compliance with security, compliance, and audit requirements in technical operations
- Ensure implementation of company-wide standards and policies (e.g., architecture and operational standards, backup/recovery, patch and security strategies)
- Initiate and drive continuous improvement measures (process optimization, automation, standardization)
- Support presales in the proposal and transition phases for new managed services customers (feasibility, effort estimation, operating model)
Requirements
- Deep understanding of SAP architectures, operations and security concepts, monitoring, automation, and handover of projects into stable operations (Ops-readiness)
- Several years of experience in technical SAP operations (Run) for complex SAP landscapes (MS Azure, (SAP) Cloud), including responsibility for availability, performance, and security
- Experience in budget, resource, and capacity planning as well as in establishing and managing KPIs and SLA-based operating models
- Strong focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement with experience in standardization, process optimization, and audit requirements
- Strong stakeholder and customer orientation with experience in escalation management, collaboration with Build/AMS teams, and presales support for managed services
- Solid leadership experience in international teams and proven ability to provide technical and, if applicable, disciplinary leadership of SAP operations roles
