About the role

  • Manager overseeing financial management and reporting for corporate real estate at Schaeffler. Ensuring compliance with financial standards and leading a team in real estate accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct accounting treatment of real-estate-related transactions (e.g., CAPEX, leases, capitalized costs and depreciation) in accordance with IFRS and German accounting standards (HGB)
  • Review and ensure compliance in the accounting treatment of property activities, with particular emphasis on IFRS 16 (lease accounting)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal corporate policies in the real estate area
  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and external auditors, particularly in audits and reporting processes
  • Prepare financial plans, budgets and forecasts for the global real estate portfolio and produce regular financial reports for management
  • Perform variance analyses, identify deviations and develop corrective measures to meet established financial targets
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and Corporate Controlling as well as finance leads in other regions
  • Lead and develop a team covering Real Estate Accounting & Risk and Financial Planning & Reporting

Requirements

  • University degree in economics or business with a focus on finance, controlling or real estate, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in financial planning, controlling, accounting or corporate real estate finance, preferably within an international organization
  • Experience in managing and monitoring real estate or fixed assets and in applying accounting standards such as IFRS (especially IFRS 16) and HGB
  • Deep expertise in financial planning, budgeting and reporting as well as the operational real estate accounting process
  • Proficient user of SAP and common finance and controlling tools
  • Experience leading international teams
  • Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and a solution-oriented approach to work
