About the role

  • Director of Global Accounting overseeing financial reporting and integration activities related to M&A strategy at Salesforce. Collaborating with cross-functional teams for compliance and technical accounting expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing technical accounting, financial reporting, and integration activities related to the Company’s acquisition strategy
  • Partner closely with Corporate Development, Finance, Legal, Tax, Employee Success, and Operations to evaluate potential transactions
  • Assess accounting implications and ensure seamless post-close integration
  • Lead the evaluation and documentation of accounting implications for potential M&A transactions
  • Perform and review complex technical analyses under both US GAAP, IFRS and/or local accounting standards
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other local accounting standards, as well as SEC rules and internal accounting policies
  • Partner with Corporate Development and M&A Finance to assess financial risks and key accounting considerations during the diligence process
  • Lead the accounting workstream for integration including system alignment and policy harmonization
  • Establish scalable processes and internal controls for newly acquired businesses

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CA or CPA (or equivalent) required
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or national firm)
  • 5+ years of managerial (including people management) experience
  • Extensive experience in International jurisdictions
  • Strong technical accounting expertise in US GAAP and International standards (IFRS and other local)
  • Direct experience leading accounting due diligence and purchase accounting processes for complex transactions
  • Ability to self-manage as well as work with virtual, global, and cross-functional teams and timezones
  • High attention to detail paired with sound judgment and pragmatic decision-making
  • Ability to multitask, work efficiently under tight deadlines and proactively track and report progress
  • Ability/fluency in other languages (preferred)
