About the role
- Senior Engineer shaping the in-service experience of industry-leading engine control systems in aerospace. Engaging with various stakeholders to address technical challenges and improve product reliability.
Responsibilities
- Gather field data (reliability, field/operational issues) and present findings to internal/external customers
- Drive and coordinate hardware investigations
- Engage with Project Engineering, Aftermarket Program Management, suppliers, maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) organizations, engine/airframe manufacturers and aircraft operators to address product/system related technical issues
- Work with Technical publications for initiation, planning, and coordination of Service Bulletins (SB), Service Information Letters (SIL), and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM)
- Work with the Collins Customer Response Center (CRC) to address in-service technical and aircraft-on-ground (AOG) issues in an appropriately responsive manner for assigned systems and products
- Assist with root cause analysis, corrective action plans, and implementation to address chronic or significant field/operational issue with Collins parts/systems
- Act as the "voice of the customer" for promoting positive change to our products and processes
- Develop familiarization training for our products
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electrical component experience
- Experience communicating at all levels of an organization (executive to technician)
- BSME
- Aftermarket or product/aircraft/engine troubleshooting experience/ability
