About the role
- IT Operation Manager responsible for overseeing IT operations and infrastructure at Recursive. Managing SaaS tools, security initiatives, and hardware procurement in Tokyo, JP.
Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycles (creation, access control, closure) for core tools including Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft 365, SmartHR, MoneyForward suite, and Zoom
- Conduct monthly IT audits across all platforms to ensure compliance and security.
- Act as the primary consultant for internal access issues, permissions, and tool integration requests.
- Oversee the procurement and setup of MacBooks and iPhones using Apple Business Manager.
- Manage device upgrades, repairs (Apple Store coordination), and secure data wiping for off-boarding members.
- Maintain office network and VPN, monitors, and peripherals.
- Manage corporate SIM card contracts (Docomo/Softbank) and eSIM troubleshooting.
- Lead company-wide IT security initiatives and policy enforcement.
- Lead the project to migrate our device management from Kandji to Simple MDM.
- Design and implement a scalable asset management system to replace our current Notion database.
Requirements
- Professional proficiency in English
- Conversational Japanese
- Proven experience in IT Operations or System Administration
- Expertise in macOS environments and Mobile Device Management (MDM) workflows
- Experience administering SaaS suites (Google Workspace, Slack, SmartHR, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of office networking (Wi-Fi, Routers) and IT security best practices.
- Strong organizational skills to manage hardware inventory and audits.
