About the role

  • Software Engineer II performing research and software development for LexisNexis Legal & Professional. Collaborating with teams to enhance AI solutions in the legal market.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and review detailed specifications for moderately complex system components.
  • Implement and resolve simple bug fixes.
  • Collaborate with development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into effective software designs.
  • Work within various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as needed.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
  • Proficiency in data manipulation languages (e.g., SQL).
  • Experience working with simple data models and data storage subsystems.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more of the following: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, .NET, Windows, and UNIX environments.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, including code coverage and test-driven development.
  • Ability to create automated tests using test frameworks.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
