About the role

  • Project Manager overseeing planning and execution of technical projects at RBC in Edinburgh. Leading cross-functional teams and ensuring project delivery on time and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects while serving as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables; create detailed project plans and schedules.
  • Lead cross-functional technical teams, coordinate resources, and facilitate collaboration between developers, engineers, and other specialists.
  • Identify potential technical and scheduling risks; develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and clients; manage expectations and address concerns.
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and control costs.
  • Ensure deliverables meet technical standards and quality requirements.
  • Address blockers and technical challenges to keep projects on track.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background (software development, engineering, IT, or related field).
  • Project management expertise and familiarity with methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Strong ability to manage and influence stakeholders across both business and Technology teams, including developers, testers, platform leads, change leaderships, SME’s, solution analyst and business analyst.
  • Acts as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring requirements, constraints, and priorities are clearly understood by all stakeholders.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to analyze complex situations, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management, able to prioritise work and manage multiple activities in a dynamic delivery environment.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Microsoft Project, etc.).
  • Existing knowledge of RBC operations, business areas and values.
