About the role
- Accountant in a fast-growing e-mobility company focusing on charging infrastructure. Responsible for accounting processes and optimizing financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Accounts payable: creating and maintaining supplier records, reviewing and posting invoices, ongoing communication with suppliers, and preparing payments
- Accounts receivable: while the invoicing process is largely automated, you will verify the accuracy and completeness of receivables, and communicate with roaming partners to ensure timely payment
- Reconciliation of bank accounts, PayPal, and credit cards
- Processing expense claims
- Fixed asset accounting, including clear organization of records for deployed charging infrastructure
- Intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Point of contact for external tax advisors in Germany
- Collaboration with audit firms servicing international subsidiaries to improve their use of our ERP system Odoo (or their interface to Odoo)
- Participation in period-end close and ad-hoc accounting projects
Requirements
- You have completed vocational training or a degree (preferably in accounting, taxation, or business) and have at least 3 years of professional experience in an accounting role
- Good knowledge of German accounting principles (HGB) and VAT rules
- You are an excellent communicator and fluent in English (our working language) and German
- Experience working with at least one ERP system and with MS Office (or equivalent)
- Customer-oriented, friendly, and positive attitude
- Well organized, reliable, accurate, highly attentive to detail, and able to handle confidential information with discretion
- An adaptable team player who is energized by the fast-paced and varied environment of a start-up
