About the role

Responsibilities
- Plan and design the strategic network architecture.
- Requirements management to develop a long-term network roadmap.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies into the existing infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability and performance of network segments.
- Create architecture blueprints and security concepts.
- Lead and advise on projects such as network modernization and site interconnection.
- Coordinate external partners.
- Document the architecture and define monitoring standards.
- Support the administration and further development of Microsoft 365 services.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Automation Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Several years of professional experience in network administration and planning, ideally with exposure to production environments (OT).
- Solid knowledge in the design and administration of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and industrial networks.
- Deep experience with Fortinet products (e.g., FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, FortiAP).
- Knowledge of implementing IT and OT security standards (e.g., ISO 27001).
- Experience with network security components such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation concepts.
- Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., PRTG).
- Basic knowledge in the administration of Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune).
- Understanding of the requirements and particularities of production networks (e.g., real-time communication, legacy systems, high availability).
- Analytical thinking, a structured working style, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork — including in interdisciplinary environments.
- Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.
