About the role
- Director of Wind Energy overseeing origination and development of greenfield and repowering projects for Q ENERGY France. Leading strategy, budget oversight, and team management.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Director of Development France, you will be responsible for:
- Proposing an origination and development strategy for greenfield wind and repowering projects to the Development Directorate
- Market monitoring, analysis, prospective studies and related marketing for the wind sector
- Engaging in lobbying at national, regional, political and association levels, in collaboration with Public Affairs
- Proposing and implementing an organizational structure and resources aligned with the approved strategy, markets and objectives, consistent with budgets
- Analyzing and proposing a strategy for acquiring external project portfolios
- Proposing tariff hedging strategies (Corporate PPA, CRE tenders) and managing tender submissions
- Preparing, proposing and monitoring annual and multi-year budgets of costs and revenues for wind activity from prospecting to the start of project construction
- Developing, proposing and tracking annual wind development objectives and performance indicators for the company
- Cascading development targets to team leaders
- Establishing and updating effective procedures necessary to govern wind development activities and to implement the company’s strategy
- Proposing and actively participating in continuous improvement and transformation initiatives within the company
- Participating in coordination meetings with all Q ENERGY Directorates
- Leading, monitoring and reporting on the activity within your scope: portfolio evolution, budget, H&S
- Operational follow-up of wind development activities: trade-offs, project strategies, commercial offers, project decision-making, HR support in liaison with Regional Managers and project teams
- Managing the portfolio in alignment with company objectives and strategy
- Managing, supporting and taking actions required for the professional development of team managers
- Internal communication and reporting, top-down and bottom-up, related to your area of responsibility and the company’s overall activity, for teams and management
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master’s level / Bac +5) with recognized expertise in renewable energy development and leading ambitious projects
- Expert in bid/tender strategy, able to convert opportunities into concrete successes through analytical, results-oriented approaches
- Seasoned influencer within the sector, comfortable with institutional representation and building strategic alliances
- Experienced project manager, adept at coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing complex issues in a fast-changing environment
- Natural leader, inspiring and unifying, capable of mobilizing teams around a shared vision and supporting their growth
- Advanced risk management skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach
- Fluent English, essential for operating in an international ecosystem and collaborating with global partners
- Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, ensuring relevant, decision-focused reporting
- Key soft skills: leadership, agility, curiosity, collaboration, adaptability, decisiveness and a drive for challenge
- The role is based in Paris, Lyon, Avignon, Bordeaux or Nantes.
