About the role

  • Named Account Manager focused on sales for State, Local Government, and Educational organizations in cybersecurity. Building business relationships and expanding presence in a regional market.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong business relationships at the executive level
  • Conduct sales presentations and coordinate multiple resources within an account
  • Successfully close business for Proofpoint
  • Penetrate net new accounts as well as expand presence with existing customers
  • Partner with the channel organization to secure new share of the security market
  • Prepare account strategies and plans with Sales/Systems Engineering team
  • Deliver outstanding product demos and proof of concept programs to prospects and customers

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field sales role selling to large State, local and Higher Education markets
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales goals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, detail and process oriented
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and use good judgment in resolving difficult issues
  • Experience with SalesForce or similar CRM tools strongly preferred
  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred
