About the role
- Cost Controller at Progesys responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control in industrial projects. Collaborating across teams to ensure financial accuracy and addressing project changes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and update budget forecasts, cash flow forecasts, and periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Produce project performance reports (including EAC, ETC, EVMS performance indices, cost and schedule variances) in collaboration with planning
- Control costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
- Consolidate and validate financial data from contractors and subcontractors
- Ensure the accuracy of payments and commitments related to invoices and purchase orders
- Act as a liaison between accounting, engineering, and project management teams to ensure rigorous tracking of financial data
- Track and manage scope changes (change register), analyze financial impacts, and incorporate approved changes into the budget
- Apply project control policies and procedures according to the client's internal standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost management tools, processes, and practices
- Participate in the financial feasibility assessment of projects in development and review financial models
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering
- 7–10 years' experience in a cost controller role within an EPCM environment on light or heavy industrial or mining projects
- Strong oral and written communication skills in French
- Experience working with PRISM G2 is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of engineering controls, cost control, project accounting, and project reporting
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage situations and make sound decisions
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, is required
- Knowledge of Primavera and SAP
- Availability to travel to site occasionally
