About the role

  • Cost Controller at Progesys responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control in industrial projects. Collaborating across teams to ensure financial accuracy and addressing project changes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update budget forecasts, cash flow forecasts, and periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual)
  • Produce project performance reports (including EAC, ETC, EVMS performance indices, cost and schedule variances) in collaboration with planning
  • Control costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
  • Consolidate and validate financial data from contractors and subcontractors
  • Ensure the accuracy of payments and commitments related to invoices and purchase orders
  • Act as a liaison between accounting, engineering, and project management teams to ensure rigorous tracking of financial data
  • Track and manage scope changes (change register), analyze financial impacts, and incorporate approved changes into the budget
  • Apply project control policies and procedures according to the client's internal standards
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost management tools, processes, and practices
  • Participate in the financial feasibility assessment of projects in development and review financial models

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering
  • 7–10 years' experience in a cost controller role within an EPCM environment on light or heavy industrial or mining projects
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in French
  • Experience working with PRISM G2 is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering controls, cost control, project accounting, and project reporting
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage situations and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, is required
  • Knowledge of Primavera and SAP
  • Availability to travel to site occasionally
