Cost Controller at Progesys responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control in industrial projects. Collaborating across teams to ensure financial accuracy and addressing project changes.
Responsibilities
Prepare and update budget forecasts, cash flow forecasts, and periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual)
Produce project performance reports (including EAC, ETC, EVMS performance indices, cost and schedule variances) in collaboration with planning
Control costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
Consolidate and validate financial data from contractors and subcontractors
Ensure the accuracy of payments and commitments related to invoices and purchase orders
Act as a liaison between accounting, engineering, and project management teams to ensure rigorous tracking of financial data
Track and manage scope changes (change register), analyze financial impacts, and incorporate approved changes into the budget
Apply project control policies and procedures according to the client's internal standards
Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost management tools, processes, and practices
Participate in the financial feasibility assessment of projects in development and review financial models
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering
7–10 years' experience in a cost controller role within an EPCM environment on light or heavy industrial or mining projects
Strong oral and written communication skills in French
Experience working with PRISM G2 is an asset
Excellent knowledge of engineering controls, cost control, project accounting, and project reporting
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage situations and make sound decisions
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, is required
Knowledge of Primavera and SAP
Availability to travel to site occasionally
