About the role

  • Database Administrator managing SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL for a technology company. Responsible for administration, security, performance tuning, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, install, configure, and upgrade Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
  • Monitor and optimize performance (tuning, indexes, execution plans, wait events).
  • Plan capacity and automate operational routines, orchestrating backup/restore and disaster recovery, using advanced analytics to support anomaly detection and anticipate issues.
  • Implement and operate HA/DR: Oracle RAC/Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, Log Shipping, PostgreSQL replication (WAL - Write-Ahead Logging).
  • Manage security, auditing, and compliance (LGPD), access controls, and encryption.
  • Support squads: data modeling, SQL reviews, migrations, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead migrations/updates between versions/engines on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Document architectures, standards, runbooks, and playbooks.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams/business units, aligning SLAs/OLAs and managing incidents/changes.
  • Build automation and operational analysis tools, including event correlation, automated recommendations, and predictive analytics (database-focused).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Analysis, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Intermediate English.
  • Strong experience administering databases: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with cloud databases (e.g., AWS RDS).
  • Experience implementing and maintaining database replication.
  • Experience with generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to support troubleshooting, log analysis, query optimization, and automation of operational routines.
