About the role

  • PJM Sr. Telecommunications Analyst responsible for ensuring effective operation of voice networks. Leading design and management of voice systems with a focus on performance and improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a consistent and effective operation of PJM's voice networks, both internal and external
  • Responsible for design of PJM's voice network
  • Monitor overall telecommunications systems performance, identifying poor quality lines, circuit utilization, and service improvement opportunities
  • Provide ordering, training, and consulting expertise on telecommunication services
  • Identify and manage problems occurring on components of the telecommunications infrastructure
  • Recommend placement and configuration of PBX, switch, and phones
  • Implement, administer, and audit IT security to determine compliance with security practices
  • Maintain and communicate change information for all telecommunications platforms
  • Build and develop strong relationships with ITS business area clients by providing superior customer support
  • Provide periodic 7x24 on-call support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of experience Systems Management, Telecommunications support, and telecommunications systems administration
  • At least 5 years of experience Support of Nortel CS1K, Avaya, BT or Cisco based PBX Telephony infrastructure including Contact Center, Voicemail and Call-Recording platforms.
  • At least 5 years of experience Experience with Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) technology
  • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Experience using verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
