About the role

  • Manager overseeing global import operations at a logistics client focusing on pharmaceutical and clinical research. Leading compliance and performance optimization in international trade.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the global imports management team, promoting continuous development and high performance.
  • Ensure operational management and compliance of import and export processes for clinical research projects and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proactively coordinate customs clearances with customs brokers, partner companies, and international regulatory authorities (LATAM and Europe) to optimize import and export flows.
  • Monitor and anticipate regulatory trends and innovations in international trade, especially in the pharmaceutical and clinical research sectors.
  • Manage and optimize Importer of Record (IoR) and Exporter of Record (EoR) processes, ensuring legal compliance and operational efficiency across jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with supply chain teams to establish optimized logistics flows that enable global procurement and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with global suppliers, logistics partners, and stakeholders, seeking new opportunities and service optimizations.
  • Analyze import/export data, performance metrics, and costs, preparing management reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, quality, commercial) to ensure integration and alignment of import operations with the company's global objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP) regulations applicable to imports of pharmaceutical and clinical research products.

Requirements

  • Degree in International Trade, Foreign Trade, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing global imports and exports, with a focus on pharmaceuticals, clinical research, and/or healthcare.
  • Deep knowledge of international customs regulations, Incoterms, and foreign trade legislation.
  • Strategic vision and the ability to adapt to complex global scenarios.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory).
