About the role

• Forward Deployed Engineer transforming customer data into actionable insights at paretos. Collaborating with customers to solve complex data challenges in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze & run workshops: assess the data situation, identify gaps, prepare templates, and lead data workshops
• Data & models: transform customer data into the paretos schema, set up and compare baseline and agent-based forecast results, identify opportunities, and test hypotheses
• Business impact: analyze results and derive actionable recommendations, always focused on real customer value
• Go-live & monitoring: monitor pipelines, verify forecast quality, respond to ad-hoc questions, and continuously optimize
• Communication & feedback: serve as the technical point of contact for the customer, collaborate closely with Customer Success and Product/Forecast teams, provide feedback, and support product development
• You take end-to-end responsibility, are visible to customers and the team, think analytically and commercially, and ensure every project delivers real value.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Business or Data Analyst
• Very strong analytical skills and a structured working style
• Solid programming skills in Python and experience with Git
• Practical experience with SQL / relational databases
• Excellent communication skills – internally and externally
• Fluent in German and English (German is required)
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
• Willingness to work on-site in Heidelberg on a regular basis
