About the role

Forward Deployed Engineer shaping AI-driven decision intelligence solutions at paretos. Engaging with clients and configuring platform solutions based on business needs while working in Heidelberg office and remotely.

Responsibilities

You lead discovery and requirements workshops, collaborating closely with domain teams in Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Operations, and with C-level executives.
You translate business requirements into concrete platform configurations and facilitate data-driven decisions with the customer.
You configure forecasting and replenishment solutions on the paretos platform, supported by agents and through iterative processes.
You integrate customer data and define our semantic data layer as the foundation for accurate forecasts and for responses from our agent, Socrates.
You ensure results are embedded in the customer workflow via clean handovers to ERP or planning systems.
Using Vibe Engineering, you build dashboards, data pipelines, and creative solution components that deliver real value in the use case.
You convert recurring tasks into Skills and thereby actively expand our internal agent structure: agent workflows, MCP integrations, and custom skills.
Presentations and documentation are produced by you mostly with AI support: fast, structured, and to the point.

Several years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Consultant, or Software Engineer with consulting experience.
Former technical founders are explicitly welcome.
Strong data affinity: you dive deep into datasets, identify causal chains, and want to understand processes in detail.
You demonstrably work in an AI-first manner.
Agents, LLMs, Claude Code, and Vibe Coding are the norm, not the exception.
Practical experience with LLMs and agent systems, including prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and deployment to production.
High degree of ownership and the ability to navigate complex organizations confidently, including handling ambiguity.
Clear, persuasive communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and low ego.
German at native level or C1, and fluent English.
Bonus: Supply Chain / FMCG, Finance / Controlling, Pharma / Life Sciences, ERP / BI systems, S&OP processes, AI deployment patterns.
