About the role

Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance Department.
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined.
- Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department.
- Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments.
- Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the Maintenance Department.
- Assist in preparing and planning the Maintenance Department’s budget for equipment, supplies, and labor.
- Make weekly inspections of all maintenance functions to assure that quality control measures are continually maintained.
- Inspect storage rooms, workrooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
- Review and develop a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies noted during survey inspections.
Requirements
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity is helpful.
- Experience in a maintenance/plant-related position is required.
- General knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, if/when required.
- Be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations, open to continuing education on these topics where applicable.
