About the role
- Intern assisting with asset health and engineering for transmission lines at PG&E. Collaborating with engineers on real-world projects in electric operations for Northern and Central California.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing Engineering drawings for its accuracy on electronic maps
- Reviewing engineering calculations
- Assist Standards engineer on specific transmission line standard designs, processes, and procedures that make up the PG&E transmission line system
- Assist standards engineer with updates and enhancements to engineering drawings
- Mapping records to business processes for transmission line encroachments
- Assist in data entry for risk models
- The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced transmission line engineers.
- Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the larger Electrical Operations organization through the work they will be performing.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business, Computer Science or related field at an accredited University
- Students must be continuing their education towards degree during and/or after the internship.
- EIT or FE certification
- 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
- Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
