About the role

  • Intern assisting with asset health and engineering for transmission lines at PG&E. Collaborating with engineers on real-world projects in electric operations for Northern and Central California.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing Engineering drawings for its accuracy on electronic maps
  • Reviewing engineering calculations
  • Assist Standards engineer on specific transmission line standard designs, processes, and procedures that make up the PG&E transmission line system
  • Assist standards engineer with updates and enhancements to engineering drawings
  • Mapping records to business processes for transmission line encroachments
  • Assist in data entry for risk models
  • The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced transmission line engineers.
  • Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the larger Electrical Operations organization through the work they will be performing.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business, Computer Science or related field at an accredited University
  • Students must be continuing their education towards degree during and/or after the internship.
  • EIT or FE certification
  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
