Senior Accountant & Accounts Receivable Specialist in finance department. Handling close processes, reconciliations, and supporting financial audits for government contracts.
Responsibilities
Supports the close process as needed to ensure timeline is met.
Duties may include but are not limited to, Depreciation and amortization entries.
Miscellaneous accruals.
Interest in calculation and entries.
Bi-monthly labor, benefit and payroll postings.
Monthly bank, debt, balance sheet, revenue, and other account reconciliations and adjustments.
Accounts Receivable processing.
Sets up and modifies projects and employees in the accounting system based on contract documentation and information provided by the Project Finance Manager.
Recording and reconciling project team managed billings in the accounting system, reconciling, and resolving variances under the leadership of the Project Finance Manager.
Attending to AR related queries.
Support of annual financial audits, diligence, and other financial evidence collection requests.
Maintains accessible and audit ready documentation for responsible areas.
Gathers, reviews, submissions, and can explain documentation to external auditors.
Maintains strong familiarity with Orbis Policies and procedures.
Backup for critical functions assigned to others on Accounting Team.
Contributes to other Special Finance/Accounting initiatives as time permits.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field
Minimum of 4 years experience in accounting/finance, at least 3 years in government contracting
Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite
2+ years of recent experience using Costpoint/Deltek
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
Pays strict attention to detail
Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
