About the role
- Management Accountant in South Africa finance team, responsible for management reporting and performance analysis. Hybrid role requiring office presence 2–3 days a week in Cape Town.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts.
- Conduct variance analysis and monitor departmental spend.
- Assist with month-end close processes and reconciliation activities.
- Provide commentary and actionable insights to the Finance Manager and key stakeholders.
- Support and coach junior finance team members.
- Oversee the accuracy of accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Reconcile customer receipts and supplier payments.
- Monitor cash positions and contribute to short- and long-term cash flow forecasts.
- Support payment runs and bank reconciliations.
- Liaise with internal departments and global teams on finance matters.
- Recommend and implement process enhancements, automation, and best practices.
- Support the integration of finance tools and systems.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, finance policies, and audit standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Newly qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA, SAICA or equivalent).
- 2–4 years' experience in a management accounting or financial role.
- Strong understanding of core finance functions, including AP, AR, and cash flow.
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems such as Xero, NetSuite, or similar.
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-entity or international environment is highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- 1. **Hybrid working**: 2–3 days per week in our **Cape Town** office.
- 2. **Working Hours: **This role follows **UK working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (GMT/BST)**.
- In **South Africa Standard Time (SAST)**, this means:
