Software Systems Engineer working on SD-WAN portfolio for Open Systems. Involved in software and systems improvements, ensuring network performance, availability, and security.
Responsibilities
Work on improving our SD-WAN portfolio which is the foundation of Open Systems' global network operations
Be involved in projects from their concept phase all the way through to deployment and operations
Build services that improve the performance, availability, and security of our customers' networks without the need for human intervention in the following areas: Next-Generation Firewall, Traffic Identification, Traffic Reporting
Requirements
Higher education (ETH, university, FH) with a degree in Computer Science or a related field
Understanding of networking technologies and protocols (e.g. firewalls, dynamic routing, TCP/IP, ...)
Experience with Linux or UNIX-based operating systems
Experience in software engineering with scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python, Perl) and concurrent compiled languages (e.g. Go, Rust, C)
Proficiency in English
Practical experience in Go, Python, Perl or Bash (bonus)
Experience with the Linux Netfilter framework (bonus)
Experience with cloud platforms and technologies (e.g. Kubernetes) (bonus)
Experience or interest in eBPF for networking, security, or performance optimization (bonus)
Knowledge of network security concepts and practices (bonus)
Familiarity with agile development cycles (bonus)
