About the role

  • Software System Architect leading the architecture and design for Video Live Production systems at RIEDEL Communications. Collaborating with global teams and ensuring system performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, technical direction, and overall system design of our Video Live Production and Replay Platform.
  • Translate product requirements into robust technical concepts, system diagrams, domain models, and clear development guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, developers, and stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment.
  • Conduct technical reviews, including architecture reviews, component design evaluations, and code reviews.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate them into a forward-looking architectural roadmap.
  • Define and maintain all architectural and domain-driven design documentation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable technical field.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years in an architecture role for high-performance, real-time, or media systems.
  • Strong background in professional broadcast systems, live production, or sports technology.
  • Hands-on experience with CPU/GPU-based video and audio processing pipelines.
  • Deep knowledge of system-level development, distributed architectures, scalable and fault-tolerant systems, and hybrid/cloud deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Skilled in defining operational domain models, domain rules, and workflow pipelines.
  • Experienced in applying Domain-Driven Design principles in complex environments.
  • Strategic thinker with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken); German is an asset.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, documentation-driven, and willing to travel occasionally.
