Responsibilities
Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields.
Use other technical resources within the company to resolve complex problems.
Incorporate advanced technical practices and complex features into problem solving and program planning.
Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management.
Communicate results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups.
Support the development, review, and implementation of nuclear safety documentation for various facilities at the Savannah River Site.
Requirements
An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience.
A MS degree and 12 years' experience.
A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience.
Knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations.
Previous experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830, DOE O 413.3, DOE O 420.1, DOE STDs 3009, 1186, 1189 and related directives and standards.
Must demonstrate proficiency in developing and providing safety basis inputs to facility/project schedules, while meeting deadlines and budgets.
Must perform work safely and be proficient in performing Nuclear Safety Program assessments.
Area Security Access: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
