Responsibilities

- Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
- Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management.
- Communicate results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups.
- Support the development, review, and implementation of nuclear safety documentation for various facilities at the Savannah River Site.
Requirements
- An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience.
- A MS degree and 12 years' experience.
- A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience.
- Knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations.
- Previous experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830, DOE O 413.3, DOE O 420.1, DOE STDs 3009, 1186, 1189 and related directives and standards.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in developing and providing safety basis inputs to facility/project schedules, while meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Must perform work safely and be proficient in performing Nuclear Safety Program assessments.
- Area Security Access: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
