About the role

  • Perform a variety of clerical and accounting duties to support financial operations within your assigned County division.
  • Maintain bookkeeping records for less complex funds, including posting standard and general journal entries.
  • Establish, update, and maintain client account information in online financial systems.
  • Prepare and send billing notices, collect payments, and accurately post receipts for various fees.
  • Review account activity and issue delinquency notices or payment reminders according to established schedules.
  • Support reimbursement and court-related accounting processes, including Judgments of Sentence, when applicable.
  • Prepare basic financial statements and assist with posting and processing transactions across funds.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test.
  • Have had one (1) year of full-time bookkeeping and related clerical work experience which involved basic accounting or bookkeeping principles, utility billing which included customer service, or a closely related area.
  • One (1) year of coursework at an accredited college or university in a business curriculum which included at least two accounting classes, may substitute for the one (1) year of experience listed above.
