About the role

  • Accountant/Finance Specialist delivering financial outputs aligned with IFRS 17 at Zurich's Technology Delivery Center. Responsible for ledger tasks, financial reporting, and process improvements in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver FAR outputs aligned with IFRS 17 and Swiss Local GAAP requirements
  • Execute ledger tasks: accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and journal postings
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to Group and local stakeholders
  • Perform in depth analysis and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts
  • Identify discrepancies, propose corrective actions, and maintain data accuracy
  • Analyse Intercompany balances for assigned trading partners
  • Investigate variances, track follow-up actions, and provide clear commentary
  • Maintain Intercompany differences at a minimal and controlled level
  • Support streamlining and automation of data gathering, analytics, and reporting
  • Contribute to the transformation of manual processes into automated solutions
  • Advocate for better data quality and enhanced reporting insights
  • Execute Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) activities
  • Uphold Group control standards and contribute to a strong control environment
  • Participate in finance-related projects and local change implementations
  • Support adoption of new tools, systems, and process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Preferably a qualified accountant
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting or finance experience—ideally insurance, banking, or external audit
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, IFRS 17, and statutory reporting
  • Skilled in GL activities (accruals, provisions, reconciliations, postings)
  • Proficient in SAP; desirable experience with SQL, Access, or Power BI
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills
  • Highly precise, structured, and detail-oriented
  • Proactive mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexible and comfortable in a fast-changing environment
