About the role
- Senior Analyst providing financial analysis in agriculture company. Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes with analytical insights.
Responsibilities
- Provide analytical support to deliver financial results
- Support the Decision Support team in providing thought leadership that enables the site to make informed, high quality and timely decisions
- Support the annual operating/capital budgets and monthly forecasting process
- Provide financial and production performance variance and trend analysis, identifying cost drivers and other insights into financial results including how this affects future decisions of the site
- Provide valuable insights through the analysis and aggregation of multiple data sets, extracting complex financial outputs in a manner that is understandable and actionable by management
- Support predictive analysis including key cost drivers or areas of focus through-out the month for the Site to achieve Forecast/Budget
- Support product costing – reviewing allocation approaches, comparability across sites and aligning where possible to enable better business decisions
- Provide ad-hoc decision support including analysis & reporting as well as involvement in relevant site level projects to business partners
- Support various continuous improvement and strategic initiatives across the Plant Finance group and Plant Site
- Work closely with the site finance team to support the business with interpretation and implementation of accounting policies
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance
- 6+ years relevant experience with accounting cost management
- Professional accounting or finance designation in progress or attained is preferred
- Proven ability to analyze data and convert into meaningful information
- Strong attention to detail
- Problem-Solving skills
- Reputation as a valued and trusted business partner
- Able to work independently while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, with in-depth knowledge of Excel and Analytical Tools
- Working knowledge of Oracle and/or SAP/BW
- Experience with Oracle, SAP/BW, HANA, and larger ERP systems an asset
