About the role
- Azure Architect advising on security concerns, architecture and migrations from on-premise to cloud. Required knowledge in Azure networking, storage, services, security, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Advising agency on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure including in-place migrations/refactoring.
- Make recommendations on lift and shift and on-premise to cloud native migrations.
- Conduct testing within Azure to show minimal viable product of an architecture.
- Understand available offerings from COV, MSI and other connected parties.
- Make configurations to Azure in support of agency-level objectives.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals
- Knowledge of single and multi-cloud strategies and implications
- Knowledge and experience in designing cloud solutions encapsulating all aspects of design that meet business requirements.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Azure network and storage architectures
- Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Services (examples Azure Key Vault, Entra ID, etc.)
- Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Functions, Azure Web App/App Service, Containers, micro-services architecture and server-less architecture.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cloud security principles including zero-trust, network segmentation, just-in-time access, conditional access etc.
- Knowledge of availability options.
- Effective documentation writing.
- Experience in managing cloud-based security posture activities including vulnerability remediation, perimeter defense architecture, encryption in tran
- Knowledge and experience in DevOps including Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
- Knowledge and experience in data storage products like SQL Server, Oracle. Knowledge of non-relational data storage products like Cosmos DB.
- Experience as a on-premise architect 5+ years
- Strong communication skills.
- Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect
