About the role
- Senior Principal Engineer at Northrop Grumman ensuring compliance to electromagnetic and nuclear hardness requirements. Technical liaison for design evaluation, testing, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Ensure system compliance to electromagnetic environmental effects and nuclear hardness requirements from individual components to the operational weapon system
- Act as the technical liaison between internal and external organizations
- Develop hardening approaches, test plans, test conduct, and analyses showing compliance of avionics
- Perform testing, data analysis, and reporting for in-house test activities
- Develop test software/hardware
- Lead the evaluation of design drawings to verify and correct system design to standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of relevant experience OR; 6 years of experience with a Master’s Degree OR; 3 years of experience with PhD in STEM discipline
- Understanding of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects or Nuclear Hardness impacts in hardware and assemblies within aircraft
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR)
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
