About the role
- Senior Load Calculation Engineer performing aeroelastic load calculations and developing simulation models for wind turbines. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in engineering processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform aeroelastic load calculations for wind turbines in accordance with IEC 61400-1
- Conduct stability analyses using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Develop, validate, and optimize simulation models for various turbine platforms.
- Support product development cycles, including concept evaluation, prototype design, and serial product verification.
- Prepare technical documentation for certification processes and interface with certification bodies.
- Analyze simulation results, identify design-driving load cases, and provide engineering recommendations.
- Develop scripts and tools in MATLAB to improve simulation workflows and data processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, control engineering, structure, and systems engineering.
Requirements
- Master in Mechanical Eng., Civil Eng. or Physics
- Complementary Training: Matlab, Alaska, Bladed, HAWC2, or FAST/OpenFAST
- Spanish and English. Skills in German preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in similar roles/functions.
