About the role
- Enterprise Configuration Engineer leading operations in pre-stage environment at CDW. Collaborating with technical leads and training others to enhance skills in enterprise configurations.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with the Configuration Centre Technical lead to define priorities, objectives and strategy
- Work with Config trainer to design training packages for skill enhancement
- Provide technical support for enterprise opportunities and support Consultant technicians
- Document and maintain technical documentation per company standards
- Identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders
- Collaborate with Configuration Centre Consultancy team to capture requirements and manage expectations
- Maintain and improve skills in appropriate technologies
- Identify improvement and automation opportunities
- Ensure customers receive the highest level of quality
- Perform additional duties assigned by the leadership team.
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience of configuring Cisco, Fortinet, Arista, Palo Alto, Aruba, HPE
- Virtualisation technologies
- Fundamental architectural understanding of hyper convergence (Nutanix, Hyperflex)
- Fundamental architectural understanding of ACI (Cisco)
- Understanding of scripting languages to help support automation opportunities
- Minimum CCNA qualification, learning towards higher qualifications (CCNP etc.)
- Previous experience in a Pre Staging environment extremely advantageous.
- Experience of device deployment on scale advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience of SQL databases and reporting.
- Demonstrable experience architecting, documenting and deploying IT infrastructure.
- Previous use and understanding of MS Visio is essential.
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to solve problems and provide feedback.
- Ability to share knowledge with others.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
