About the role

  • Senior Adjudications Manager overseeing hearings operations at NMC. Leading teams to ensure efficient, fair hearings while driving high performance and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear, visible leadership, setting direction and driving a culture of high performance, professionalism and collaboration.
  • Manage and develop staff through effective coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Support a positive working culture by setting clear expectations, promoting accountability and role-modelling professional behaviours.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of hearings, ensuring they are run efficiently, fairly and in line with our statutory framework.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively, identifying and delivering cost efficiencies while maintaining quality.
  • Use data and performance insights to inform decision-making, forecasting and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with senior colleagues across Adjudications, Fitness to Practise, Legal and external stakeholders to ensure joined-up delivery.
  • Lead or contribute to projects that improve systems, processes, and staff capability across the Adjudications function.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading operational team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop individuals and teams, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
  • Financial and resource management experience, including budget monitoring and forecasting.
  • Excellent planning, analytical and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with the ability to influence and build credibility across all levels.
  • A commitment to fairness, public protection, and continuous improvement.
