About the role
- Financial Controller managing financial reporting cycles and statutory controls for Nexun’s multi-country renewable energy projects. Collaborating closely with CFO and regional teams for strong governance and performance tracking.
Responsibilities
- Own the group closing and reporting calendar (monthly/quarterly/year-end) across 6 countries and ~60 entities.
- Deliver accurate and timely management reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPIs) and support the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements
- Review and challenge key accounting estimates and judgments (accruals, provisions, revenue cut-off, leases, fixed assets).
- Lead the preparation and coordination of statutory financial statements and annual closing for all relevant entities, ensuring compliance with local requirements.
- Manage external stakeholders (outsourced accountants, statutory auditors): planning, deliverables, quality reviews, issue resolution.
- Ensure audit readiness through robust documentation, reconciliations, and consistent working papers
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve internal financial control frameworks and processes
- Perform project cost tracking, financial performance analysis, and margin calculations for renewable energy projects
- Ensure the implementation of best-practice financial policies, procedures, and controls across all operating countries
- Participate in the annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections process
- Lead intercompany cost allocation and reinvoicing processes across the group
- Oversee the current accounting operating model where bookkeeping is outsourced to accounting firms: define expectations, standard deliverables, KPIs/SLAs, and review routines.
- Lead the transition to a hybrid model by internalizing accounting for selected countries
- Participate in the Odoo Implementation as a key finance stakeholder
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
- Significant experience in financial control, group reporting, consolidation, audit, or similar roles in a multi-entity and multi-country environment.
- Strong expertise in French GAAP consolidation and statutory reporting.
- Experience overseeing or working with outsourced accounting providers and driving quality through governance.
- ERP transformation experience; Odoo exposure is a plus (experience with other ERPs also relevant).
- Prior experience in audit (Big 4 or similar) is preferred, particularly with multi-entity groups, consolidation, or statutory reporting assignments.
- Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or multi-country environment preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Fluent in English; French required; other European languages are a plus
- Comfortable working in a multicultural, international matrix organization
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Works autonomously and communicates insights clearly
- Strong team player with a high sense of ownership and accountability
